The audio quality on this disc - compared to my CD copy of the same album - is absolutely horrible. It was not listenable and the needle arm went up and down as it wobbled on the turntable. To my ears it is simply perfect.
I went back an read the 1 star reviews and that confirmed what I received. Miles had been part of the hard bop movement after leaving Bird, which simplified the chord progressions and complex harmonies of the original bebop.
The end results were wondrous and still crackle with vitality. I'm playing the new 2011 RTI reissue of Kind of Blue, and it does sound very good to my ears, very clear and a bit more in-your-face on solos. Amazon should clearance these with a warning.

Very clean and bright sound with balanced highs and lows.
I get chocked up it sounds so good.
It hands down blows away anything else I've ever heard as far as accurate audio recreation.
I bought my copy during Prime Day and the quality is outstanding. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. So here's a review for the audiophiles.

Strike 3 is that the sound is ok, but not some audiophile amazing sound reproduction. I played it on my 1959 CalCraft stereo with the volume up. It was about 10 years later before I was able to afford to buy the album and something decent to play it on.
The replacement LP is excellent with extremely low background noise and clarity. With so many thoughtful reviews extant, why do another? Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2020. I returned it for another one but it was warped as well. I didn't have this album out of it's packaging for 2 hours before I was packing it up for replacement. All I can say is that this recording is special and it's special to me. What did I draw the short straw on this one! Strike 2 is the disk being warped. Given the space of my listening room, this is a fairly high resolving 2 channel system.
Better pressing/weight of vinyl would probably result in a much richer sound. Subwoofer is a SVS 3000 sealed unit.

I can say with a certain degree of certainty that one of the main reasons Vinyl collectors pay for music in Vinyl format has to do with the feeling of having something concrete and tangible to be touched, displayed, and listened to.
To my ears it is simply perfect.

Back to Kind of Blue (Legacy Edition). The record sleeve cardboard is very thin. This is, of course, one of the greatest, most perfect, most truly sublime Jazz albums that will ever exist.

I've rarely heard more pops, crackles and other distortion on a badly abused album as this one did straight out of the shrink wrap!
The first LP I received sounded like a box of Rice Crispies with numerous clicks and background noise. A note to those new to vinyl recordings, there is audible tape hiss on this recording.
