Redshift is a GPU-based rendering engine, and the latest version 2.6.22 is compatible with NVIDIA's Turing graphics architecture in the GeForce RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti cards. According to Ton, Blender is interested in using RT cores... and that's it at the moment. This version appears to support the new Turing GPU architecture used in the RTX series cards, though the version we had tested most recently before this (2.6.11) does not. Judging by what the devs have said on the forums, RTX isn't going to be the silver bullet Nvidia would like to make out that it is. Whether a second RTX 2080 would help or not depends on which side of the V-Ray rendering engine you use, though: if you use the CPU side then the video card(s) won't matter, but if you use V-Ray GPU (formerly RT) then having a second card will cut render times almost in half.

I ask because if you truly plan to only use Redshift, and you don't do any other heavily threaded work on the system, you might consider just consolidating in one system by moving your second RTX 2080 Ti over to the i7 8700K rig. I have used GTX 1080ti and it renders perfectly and faster. We are actaully using VRAY ADV and not RT.
